Overview of Legal Guidelines for the Natural Health Care Practitioner

II. Hierarchy of Law in America – What is the highest written law in America? The United States Constitution – We get familiar with this document in the course.
III. Major legal principles to understand which can affect your ability to continue practicing in the field of alternative health care.
IV. Healing paradigms and how they affect your ability to practice free of government and regulatory interference.
V. Practice options for both the unlicensed practitioner and the licensed practitioner who wants less interference from his/her licensing board
VI. The Bill of Rights and the Ninth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution – how they can be used to argue for a right to offer and receive health care of one’s choice
Lunch Break
VII. What is the source of your rights? Natural rights vs. Civil Rights. What is citizen sovereignty? Supreme Court cases which uphold doctrine of citizen sovereignty and its applicability to your right to offer and receive natural health care services.
VIII. Occupational licensing vs. Certification – the case against Medical licensing.
IX. An analysis of whether Licensing laws have advanced their purported purpose of improving the safety of health care and protecting the public from harm.
X. An overview of the four major areas of legal concern for the alternative health care practitioner and options available to address these areas.

The course lasts about 7 hours with a mid-day break for lunch. Included in the $225 tuition* is a 60+ page course outline along with a resource guide. Integrated into the course are interactive exercises challenging the student to use the material in articulating legal principles and rationale for and against health care freedom. It is important that students understand key legal principles to increase their confidence in practicing in the field of alternative health care.
